Zig Zag School Proposes Game Changer for Farmers Creek

Lithgow Council

This morning Mayor Cass Coleman and Water, Waste and Wastewater Director Mathew Trapp welcomed students from Zig Zag Public School to the Council Chambers to present their "Game Changers" concept for an app that would allow residents to report waste being dumped into Farmers Creek.

Game Changers is a school-based program where students identify an issue within their community and work collaboratively to solve the problem. This was the first year that Zig Zag has participated in this statewide program and they chose Farmers Creek because it runs directly by their school.

Parents were also invited to listen to the presentation and hear the incredible effort that went into the proposal. Both the Mayor and Director Trapp were very impressed by the presentation and have agreed to work with the students on ways to keep Farmers Creek clean and pristine for future generations.
