$10K in stolen goods recovered in Leopold after two women caught trailing delivery van

Two women have been charged after mail and parcels were allegedly stolen across the Bellarine Peninsula over the past month.

Police attended an address to execute a search warrant at a Lochlan Court address in Leopold yesterday.

After finding no one home, they spotted one of their target's vehicles allegedly trailing a delivery van.

The car was intercepted on Ocean Grove, where allegedly stolen goods were found in the vehicle and the two female occupants were arrested.

A search warrant was executed at the property on Lochlan Court, where around $10,000 in clothing, jewellery and personal items were located, as well as around $5000 in methylamphetamine and GHB.

The two Leopold women, aged 29 and 25, were both charged with theft, handling stolen goods, possessing the proceeds of crime and drug possession charges.

They've been bailed and will appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 21 December, 2022.
