1990 Sex Assault Extradition

Cold Case Serious Crime Squad officers have yesterday extradited a 54 year old man from New South Wales over an alleged sexual assault which occurred in Western Australia in 1990.

It will be alleged on the evening of 10 March 1990, the man approached two females (aged 17 and 19 years) at the Beckenham Train Station.

Wearing a balaclava and armed with a small handgun, he then grabbed both girls before dragging them into bushland near the train station.

He then allegedly sexually assaulted the 17 year old girl.

As a result of investigations, the 54 year old male of Cootamundra in NSW was extradited from NSW to face court on the following charges:

• Going armed in Public to cause Fear x 2

• Deprivation of Liberty x 2

• Sexual Penetration without Consent x 2

• Aggravated Indecent Assault x 2

He will be appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 28 September 2019.
