2021/22 Youth Development Grant and Quick Response Grant Awarded

Council awarded two applications for funding totaling $553 under the 2021/22 Council Community Strengthening Grants Scheme at its June Ordinary meeting.

The 'Youth Development' Grant Category is offered at a set amount of $250 per applicant and is available to support high achievement in a cultural, academic, or sporting activity that requires attendance at a State, National or International level event.

Council congratulates Jett Lui who was awarded $250 under the Youth Development Category to attend the 2022 Rugby League School Sport Australian Championships from 3-8 July 2022 in Redcliffe, QLD.

Council's Community Strengthening Grants includes a 'Quick Response' Grant Category which aims to support activities that arise unexpectedly, with limited notice, outside the window of the twice-yearly Community Grants Scheme. Applications within this category are capped at a maximum of $2,000.

Council congratulates the Leeton Rainbow Pride Collective who was awarded $253 under the Quick Response Category to purchase a teardrop flag to celebrate NAIDOC Week in Leeton.

Further, Council delegated the awarding of future youth development grants to the General Manager at its June meeting.

All grants made will be announced publicly via a media release.

Council also advises all future grant recipients that they will be required to give a verbal report to Council about their experience.
