Cricket Victoria is excited to unveil its U16 Female Emerging Players Program for the 2025/2026 season.
"The talent within these squads is a result of the strong development and commitment of Community and Premier Clubs leading into the Country Cup & Marg Jennings Cup" stated Female Talent Development Manager, Cassandra Brock.
Working directly with Cricket Victoria's High Performance Coaching Staff and experienced Premier Cricket coaches, identified players will spend two days a week developing their game technically, tactically, physically and mentally as they continue to learn about being part of a High-Performance Program.
The pre-season program includes training sessions at the CitiPower Centre and the MCG with cricket skill development, physical preparation, education and center wicket scenarios as the focus.
Match opportunities will then kick off from September onwards.
Exciting quartet Jasmine Kamboj, Noura Abdul Qader, Lucy Fletcher and Eva Baird have also been included in the U19s Emerging Players Squad.
It's been a year to remember for the emerging stars, with all four players representing Victoria at the Cricket Australia Lanning Perry Camp earlier in April this year.
Victoria's U16 Squads will be Head Coached by Former Australian Women's Player & Talent Development Specialist Jess Duffin (Country) and U16s National Championship winning coach Sophie Strickland (Metro), who has been elevated from Assistant Coach to Head Coach this year.
The Assistant Coach roles will be appointed during the Emerging Players Program, creating more opportunities for coaches from Premier Cricket to Victorian Pathways Cricket.
The Victoria Country and Metro U16 Teams will then be selected in November ahead of the Cricket Australia U16s National Championships which are set to take place next January.
