Beginning Monday 22 June, around 400 Byron Shire residents will be contacted by an independent research company and invited to share their feedback on their satisfaction with Council work and services.
The 2026 community survey will be conducted by Micromex Research with the aim to help us plan for and prioritise the delivery of services to the community, to see what's working and where we need to focus attention.
"This is a very important community engagement tool for Council, as the survey is conducted randomly and the feedback gathered is representative of the community, ensuring the participants broadly reflect residents across the Shire" General Manager, Mark Arnold, said.
"Participation is anonymous, and the information gathered will be used in a variety of ways" he said.
"It will tell us how satisfied people are with Council, the work we do and the services we provide, and this information will help us allocate resources.
"The results will also highlight what matters most to the community. For example, previous survey findings identified housing availability and affordability, managing development, and maintaining roads as the top priorities.
"This data is used to continue to lobby the NSW Government for increased funding for road improvements and investment in housing in the Shire," Mr Arnold said.
The team from Micromex Research will be contacting people randomly to do the 15-minute survey and Council thanks everyone who participates.
They will not be collecting personal details, and the survey will be anonymous.
