Registration is now open for the 2026 Penn State Climate Solutions Symposium, a three-day event focused on advancing evidence-based strategies to address climate change impacts worldwide, with dedicated attention to challenges and solutions in Pennsylvania. The symposium will be held May 18-20 at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College.
Hosted by the Penn State Climate Consortium, the symposium will convene researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, students and community partners to examine how climate change is affecting communities and ecosystems throughout the commonwealth and beyond and to explore actionable solutions that strengthen resilience.
Over three days, attendees will engage in keynote and plenary sessions featuring leading experts in climate science, policy and practice. Interactive breakout sessions will highlight interdisciplinary research and applied projects addressing public health, infrastructure, agriculture, artificial intelligence, water resources, biodiversity and community planning. A dedicated "Next Level Networking" session is designed to spark new collaborations across sectors.
Additionally, the symposium will provide opportunities for field trips in surrounding communities, offering participants opportunities to engage directly with local climate initiatives. The symposium will also feature a poster session and exhibitor meetup with faculty, students and partner organizations, as well as an evening reception at the Palmer Museum of Art to encourage informal dialogue and connection.
Early registration rates are available through March 31, with discounted options for students and reduced rates for participants from industry, government, academic and nonprofit organizations. Registration includes access to all sessions, the poster session and networking reception, conference meals and refreshments, and optional field trip experiences. Space for field trips is limited, and participation is not guaranteed.
Registration details are available on the symposium website, and program updates will be posted as they become available.
