- $25 million Regional Housing Support Fund for more regional housing in WA
- Up to $5 million available for housing and land projects in the regions
- Applications close 19 December
The Cook Government has today launched the $25 million Regional Housing Support Fund to help unlock housing and land projects across regional Western Australia.
Designed to help address feasibility challenges in housing and residential lot development in the regions, the fund will support key worker housing, community housing, and residential subdivisions by providing grants of up to $5 million to local governments, community housing providers, and developers or landowners.
Funding can be sought for a wide range of costs associated with housing and residential lot development, including construction, site preparation, roadworks, and essential infrastructure such as water, wastewater, electricity, and telecommunications.
Projects must comprise a minimum of three residential dwellings or lots.
In the case of dwellings, these may span multiple lots, provided they are delivered as part of a single co-ordinated package.
For subdivisions, the proposed lots must be on a single adjoining site.
The fund is part of a range of measures the Cook Government has introduced to ensure regional Western Australians have access to secure housing.
Applications for the Regional Housing Support Fund close 5pm AWST Friday, 19 December 2025.

As stated by Planning and Lands and Housing and Works Minister John Carey:
"We know that regional housing projects often face significant barriers, from high construction costs to infrastructure gaps, and this fund is about helping to reduce these obstacles to get homes built where they are needed most.
"By supporting local governments, community housing providers, and developers, we're helping to deliver housing that supports communities and local workforces.
"It's part of our record $5.8 billion investment in housing and homelessness measures since 2021, to ensure every Western Australian has a secure home."
As stated by Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson:
"The Regional Housing Support Fund complements the Cook Government's broader housing initiatives and reflects our commitment to improving housing affordability and accessibility across Western Australia.
"This is not just about bricks and mortar, it's about creating vibrant, sustainable regional communities where people want to live and work for the long term."
