4175 applicants applied to the international master's programmes commencing in autumn 2025. The most popular programmes were once again the Master's Programme in Computer Science and the Master's Programme in Data Science.
The 2025 application procedure for the University's international master's programmes attracted 4175 applicants. The number of applicants fell by 60% compared to last year, especially due to the introduction of the application fee on 1 January 2025. Although the number of applicants fell significantly from the previous year, a higher proportion of applications were eligible and progressed to academic assessment.
The most popular of the 35 master's programmes available was the Master's Programme in Computer Science , with as many as 578 applications. The Master's Programme in Data Science was not far behind with 545 applications, while the Master's Programme in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability received 316 applications.
The Bachelor's Programme in Science received 506 applications.
34% of the applicants were admitted
1416 new students were admitted to the programmes, which means that 34% of the applicants were offered a student place. All applicants have been notified of the results by email.
Students admitted to the international master's programmes come from 83 countries. Almost 79% of those admitted are from outside Finland and over 55% from non-EU and non-EEA countries. In addition to Finland, the highest numbers of admitted students come from China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the United States.
Admitted applicants must accept the offered student place no later than 10 July 2025 at 15:00.
