UNC Peers for Progress is funded as the Community, Family, and Peer Support Core of the University of Michigan Center for Diabetes Translational Research (CDTR). The core is do-directed by Daphne Watkins, professor of social work at Michigan and Ed Fisher, professor of public health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Because of this connection, UNC-Chapel Hill colleagues are eligible to apply for Pilot and Feasibility awards of up to $50,000 through the Michigan CDTR.
