AgForce Submits on Proposal to Ban Live Sheep Exports by Sea

AgForce strongly opposes the Federal Government's policy position to ban the live export of sheep by sea.

As a result, we have made two submissions to the Federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry's consultation to the Phase out of the Live Sheep Exports by Sea.

They are as follows:

  1. Consultation Panel Phase out of Live Sheep Exports by Sea Submission - Domestic
  2. Consultation Panel Phase out of Live Sheep Exports by Sea Submission - International

Each submission describes AgForce's concerns relative to Australia as an exporting nation and the impacts to the Australian economy and its rural and regional communities; and to the importing nation and their reliance on Australia to ensure its food security for its people, including the fear of trade retaliation to Australia.
