Allens advises Australian Industrial Energy on first FSRU time charterparty in Australia

Allens has advised Australian Industrial Energy (AIE) on a long term charterparty agreement with leading infrastructure provider Höegh LNG to supply a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to operate at the Port Kembla Energy Terminal.

The initial vessel will be the Höegh Galleon, which will be available to commence operations from mid-2023. Feasibility studies are underway to enable the vessel to have the capability to deliver both natural gas and green hydrogen.

The Port Kembla Energy Terminal will be the first of its kind in Australia and the Höegh Galleon is expected to be the first FSRU to operate in Australia.
