A scholarship with the Queensland Ballet Academy which was halted during COVID-19 will be revived to support talented young ballet dancers pursue their dreams.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk made the announcement on the 10th anniversary of Strive to Be Kind Day, in memory of Allison Baden-Clay.
"This year we mark 10 years without Allison," the Premier said.
"It's been a decade of loss for her family, her friends and her community, but it's also been a decade of action.
"Through the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation her story continues to be heard and important work around educating the community about domestic and family violence goes on."
The Premier – an Ambassador of the Foundation – first announced the inaugural Allison Baden-Clay Scholarship on Strive to Be Kind Day in 2017 paying tribute to Allison's love of dance.
It assisted three students to complete Level 1 at the Queensland Ballet Academy and to pursue dreams of a professional dancing career with a professional ballet company.
The scholarship was offered annually over three years (2018, 2019 and 2020) to assist a student in completing Level 1 at the Queensland Ballet Academy, subsidising his or her course fees to the value of $5,000 each year.
Tajuddin (Taji) Hennessy (2018), Edison Manuel (2019) and Indika Ashton (2020) have all benefited from the scholarship.
The scholarship will again be offered over the next three years.
"I want to thank the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation for continuing Allison's legacy of peace and progress," the Premier said.
"In her memory, we'll continue to strive to a culture of kindness, equality and respect."
