Finance Professional and former candidate for Kooyong Amelia Hamer has been endorsed as
the Liberal Party's candidate for Malvern at the 2026 State election.
More than 200 party members came together to choose the Party's next candidate for
Malvern at Caulfield Racecourse on Sunday morning.
Hamer joins Jess Wilson's next generation Liberal team as the first candidate selected for the
upcoming Victorian election in 2026.
Amelia Hamer grew up in Malvern, went to school and had her first job in Malvern. She lives in
Malvern today. Amelia has worked across technology and finance before running for the seat
of Kooyong at the federal election. She now works at leading Australian wealth management
firm Ord Minnett as a senior equity research analyst.
Her priority for the upcoming state election is to end Labor's era of waste and financial
mismanagement, bring business back to Victoria and to restore quality of life in the Malvern
community.
Hamer said "Locals are fed up with rising crime, rising cost of living and a government that is
tired and completely out of touch. We will tackle crime, ease cost of living pressures and make
it easier to do business here again."
