A 48-year-old woman has been charged following an investigation into the alleged mistreatment of a large number of animals at a rural property in Tara.
Police attended the property on 24 July, where officers assessed the welfare of numerous animals located at the address.
Police will allege 119 animals were found on the property, including 32 dogs, 18 goats, 16 cats, 38 chickens, six budgies, three quails, one parrot, one dove, three guinea pigs and one pet rat.
The animals were provided with immediate care, with arrangements made for their ongoing welfare.
Following investigations, a 48-year-old Tara woman has been charged with one count of serious animal cruelty.
She is due to appear before Chinchilla Magistrates Court on 20 August.
Investigations remain ongoing.
