Hume City Council Launches GoGet Car Share Trial

Hume City Council has partnered with leading car share provider GoGet to deliver a 12-month car share trial across three locations in the municipality.

The trial launched this month and will provide residents with a flexible, affordable and sustainable transport option, giving them access to a vehicle when needed without the ongoing costs and responsibilities of car ownership.

Three dedicated GoGet vehicles are now available at:

  • Grand Boulevard / Millicent Drive, Craigieburn
  • Clarendon Avenue, Craigieburn
  • Sahi Crescent near Roxburgh Park Station, Roxburgh Park

Once registered with GoGet, members can book a vehicle for an hour, a day or longer, with fuel, insurance, registration and maintenance included.

The locations were selected in partnership with GoGet, focusing on areas with higher residential density, commercial activity and access to public transport.

Car sharing helps reduce reliance on private vehicle ownership and supports more efficient use of parking and urban space. The trial is part of Council's commitment to exploring smarter transport solutions as Hume's population continues to grow.

Council will monitor usage, community feedback and local demand throughout the trial to help inform future transport planning and assess opportunities for expanding car share services across Hume.

Quotes attributable to Mayor of Hume City, Cr Carly Moore:

"This trial is about giving people more options when it comes to getting around and making it easier to access a car when they need one.

"This trial gives residents another option. It offers a practical alternative by giving people access to a vehicle without the ongoing costs of registration, insurance, maintenance and fuel.

"As Hume grows, it's important that we keep looking for new and innovative ways to support our community's transport needs.

"We're excited to see how residents use the service over the next 12 months and look forward to using the results of the trial to help shape future transport initiatives across our city."
