Announcing Winners Of Koala Art Trail Design Competition

Koala Art Competition Winners

Council recently held an art competition seeking entries to 'Design a Koala', with submissions to be considered as inspiration for the potential Koala Art Trail.

The competition was strongly supported, with a total of 225 submissions received from professional, amateur and junior artists in Narrandera Shire.

The opening exhibition held Friday 1 April included the announcement of winners and highly commended, with more than thirty residents and visitors in attendance.

The winner of the Adult Design Competition was Kathryn Little for 'Meander in Narrandera' with highly commended going to Lee Reevley's 'Traditional Country - Wiradjuri' and Shelby-Rae Kschenka's 'Connection to Country'.

The Best High School Design was awarded to Adelaide R of Narrandera High School, with highly commended going to Adam B, Jett C & Jasmine F.

In the Best Primary School Design section for St Josephs' school went to Tate Rae H, with highly Commended going to Luca M, Gwyneth D, Samuel M and Adelaide P.

For Matong Public School Best Primary School Design went to Zanthe R with highly commended to Tom M and Evie B.

While Wamoon Public Schools' Teahlea S took out Best Primary School Design and highly commended to Will R and Kyah M.

The entry from Samuel B from Estella Public School also received a highly commended.

The winners of the Infants School Colouring Competition from Narrandera Public School went to Sienna L, from St Josephs' Narrandera Carter, Sam & Daisy and from Narrandera East Infants School, Callie, Annliya, Anna and Clara-Lea.

All entries will be on display at the Narrandera Arts and Community Centre from 2 - 24 April 2022 along with an extensive collection of photographs by the Narrandera/Leeton Camera Club.
