Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted during a road-rage incident in Sydney's west yesterday.
About 7.40pm (Sunday 10 January 2021), a 31-year-old man was driving a red Mazda CX5 south on Polding Street, Fairfield, when a black vehicle merged in front, causing him to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
Both vehicles stopped a short time later near the intersection of Horsley Drive, and the Mazda driver and his 38-year-old female passenger approached black vehicle, engaging in an argument with the occupants.
Police have been told a third vehicle pulled up and the occupants, two males, approached the Mazda driver and headbutted him before punching him in the face, knocking his teeth out. The Mazda passenger attempted to intervene and was also pushed before the two unknown vehicles left the scene.
The injured man attended Fairfield Police Station and notified police before attending Liverpool Hospital for treatment to his facial injuries.
An investigation has commenced, and police are appealing for public assistance, urging any witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam vision to come forward.
