Curitiba, Brazil - Applications are now open for the ninth edition of the Sesi SDG Award. This initiative recognises outstanding contributions by industries, companies, and civil society organizations towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The award is promoted by Sesi Paraná, with support from CIFAL Curitiba , part of the UNITAR CIFAL Global Network . CIFAL Curitiba focuses on key areas, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), economic and social development, urban sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
The award aims to spotlight impactful projects that strengthen the pillars of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.
Applications are open from 5 May to 30 June 2025 and may be submitted directly via: https://www.sesipr.org.br/premioods/
Categories for Submission
Submissions may be entered under one of the following four categories:
- Environmental: Initiatives involving environmental preservation, the circular economy, ecosystem conservation, waste management, water resource protection, renewable energy, emissions reduction, and environmental education.
- Social: Projects that promote employee well-being, workplace safety, diversity and inclusion, gender and racial equity, community engagement, and human rights.
- Governance: Efforts focused on ethics, transparency, compliance, risk and regulatory management, board oversight, anti-corruption, and responsible supply chain policies.
- Sustainable Partnerships: Collaborative projects that generate lasting positive social or environmental impact in local communities.
Eligibility: Projects must have been in operation for at least one year. Each organization may submit only one application per corporate registration.
Free Workshops to support Aplicants
To help participants prepare strong submissions, Sesi Paraná and CIFAL Curitiba will offer a series of free workshops, providing detailed guidance on the call for proposals and tips for writing compelling project entries.
Commitment to the SDGs
Launched in 2015, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) comprise 17 objectives designed to end poverty, protect the environment, and promote peace and prosperity by 2030. Brazil has also introduced a voluntary SDG 18, focused on advancing ethnic-racial equality and reducing inequalities. Over its previous eight editions, the Sesi SDG Award has recognised more than 2,300 inspiring practices, highlighting the power of businesses and organizations to drive a more just, equitable, and sustainable future.
