Arrest after pursued car spiked, SA

A 24-year-old man has been arrested following a police pursuit this morning, according to SA Police.

Just after 2.20am, Saturday 15 April, Elizabeth patrols spotted a Suzuki swift travelling along President Avenue, Andrews Farm. The car appeared to be driving normally before it went the wrong way around two round-abouts.

Thinking this was unusual behaviour the patrol attempted to stop the car and activated emergency lights, but the car took off at speed away from them and a pursuit ensued.

Police followed the car for about 15 minutes before it was successfully spiked on Hunter Crescent at Salisbury North. The driver dumped the car and ran but was quickly caught by officers.

The Salisbury man has been arrested and charged with drive in a manner dangerous, engage in police pursuit, resist arrest and having an expired licence. He was also wanted for an outstanding warrant.

The man was refused bail and will appear in court on Tuesday 18.
