Arrest of men for Rivervale robbery

Cannington Detectives have charged two men as a result of their investigation into an incident in Rivervale that occurred on 8 February 2020, in which a man in his 20s was assaulted.

Around 5pm, the victim was sitting in his Ford Falcon sedan which was parked on Gladstone Road in Rivervale when the men approached him.

It is alleged the men demanded the victim get out of his car and when he refused the victim was punched to the face. It is further alleged the offenders removed the keys from the ignition and ran away.

It is also alleged the two men returned and pushed and kicked the victim who was now outside his parked vehicle, and stole his mobile phone before again running away.

A 36-year-old man from Lathlain and a 24-year-old man from Redcliffe were charged with Robbery with Circumstances of Aggravation.

The 24-year old man is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 17 February 2020 and the 26-year-old man is next due to appear in court on 24 April 2020.
