Art and Science of Relaxation comes to Armidale

Leading expert in relaxation and mind body health, Dr Judy Lovas will be in Armidale for the first time presenting a one day seminar focussed on the use of relaxation to enhance psychological and physical wellbeing. Relaxation techniques are scientifically shown to have powerful benefits on the mind and body.

This seminar is a must-attend session for a broad range of health, medical, social and education professionals to enhance peoples’ health. Psychologists, doctors, social workers, yoga instructors, and school counsellors have attended Judy’s’ previous seminars. Participants can gain CPD points.

"To bring my expertise to the New England region and hold a seminar in Armidale has been months in the planning. I’m excited to meet participants to explain the strengths and benefits of relaxation. Hundreds of health and medical professionals have benefited from these seminars in capital cities and now it’s time to bring it to Armidale", said Dr Lovas.

The seminar is divided into two sessions;
Art of Relaxation is the regular practice of simple evidence-based techniques.

Science of Relaxation is the study of Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), the latest research that demonstrates how the mind and body work together

Relaxation has proven health benefits which are non-pharmacological, non-invasive, efficacious and cost effective. Research around the world has confirmed relaxation techniques can help pain, anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder (PSTD). In this seminar Dr Lovas will demonstrate these techniques and teach how to implement them successfully in clinical practice.

Knowing the science behind the art of relaxation is important, so the morning session introduces PNI. Participants will learn the effects of relaxation on neural, hormonal and immunological
pathways and its' role in reducing pain, fatigue, anxiety, sleep disorders, inflammation, depression, PTSD and chronic disease.

Dr Judy Lovas is a published author on these topics and a dynamic presenter. Dr Lovas frequently teaches at higher education and mental health organisations.
