ANZ today announced Ashish Gupta has been appointed ANZ Country Head, Thailand, reporting to Chris Raciti, ANZ Head of South East Asia, India and Middle East, subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Gupta brings more than 20 years of international banking experience across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe and Asia to this leadership role. Since joining ANZ in 2013, he has held senior roles in Relationship Management, Transaction Banking, and Research and Analysis. Most recently, Mr Gupta was Director, FIG Insurance in Australia, where he led a portfolio of complex insurance clients providing lending, transaction banking and capital markets services.
Commenting on Mr Gupta's appointment, Mr Raciti said: "Ashish brings deep institutional banking experience and a strong record of disciplined risk management, client engagement and collaboration across the ANZ network.
"ANZ has had business operations in Thailand since 1986 and remains committed to the market. Through our representative office, we continue to support institutional and corporate clients by connecting them to cross‑border trade and capital flow opportunities across our global network.
"Ashish is well placed to lead our business in Thailand, strengthening client and regulatory relationships, enhancing governance, and supporting sustainable growth," Mr Raciti said.
Mr Gupta is expected to relocate to Thailand and commence in the role in the coming months, subject to the necessary regulatory and travel approvals.
