Assault, grievous bodily harm and robbery, Palm Beach

Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy following investigations into the assault and robbery of three teenage boys at Palm Beach on Saturday night.

Around 7:00pm (June 10), a number of teenagers attended a gathering on the beach in the vicinity of the 'Pirate Park'.

It will be alleged that, a group of males approached the gathering and, during separate incidents, assaulted three boys before fleeing on foot.

In the first instance around 9:15pm, a 15-year-old Elanora boy was punched in the nose and sustained a broken left leg, and a 15-year-old Burleigh Heads boy sustained facial injuries.

Both boys had their 'Nike' shoes stolen and were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Approximately an hour later at 10:15pm, a third 15-year-old boy sustained bruising and abrasions before his 'Nike' shoes were stolen. He was treated on-scene by paramedics.

Following investigations, a 15-year-old Worongary boy was arrested after he voluntarily attended the Surfers Paradise police complex yesterday (Monday June 12) and was dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

Investigations continue to identify and locate the other members of the group.
