Police are investigating an attempted theft of a vehicle at a fast food restaurant in Aitkenvale last night (July 19).
Around 9.30pm, the driver of a food delivery service was getting into his Toyota Camry in the car park of the restaurant on Alfred Street, when two men approached him and attempted to steal the vehicle.
The driver was assaulted and one of the men got into the driver's seat and attempted to reverse away but collided with the outdoor seating area of the restaurant.
The two men then fled on foot.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has CCTV or dashcam footage in the vicinity, to contact police.
