Attempted murder charge, Scarness

Police have charged a man with attempted murder following an alleged shooting at Scarness earlier this month.

Around 9pm on Sunday, December 18, it will be alleged that a group of offenders approached a Torquay Road unit and entered into a verbal altercation with a 46-year-old Torquay man not known to them.

One of the men then allegedly produced a modified firearm and shot the 46-year-old.

The group then fled the scene in a silver sedan.

The 46-year-old Torquay man was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

A 25-year-old man Pialba man has been charged with attempted murder.

He is due to appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are ongoing.
