Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D'Ath has thanked Queensland's outgoing Public Guardian for her four years of service.
Mrs D'Ath said Natalie Siegel-Brown had shown great dedication to protecting vulnerable Queenslanders, including young people, in the role.
"Natalie's advocacy and commitment to protecting vulnerable people has been a great asset over the last four years," she said.
"She leaves the Office of the Public Guardian in great shape and I want to thank Natalie for her service."
Ms Siegel-Brown is taking up the role of Managing Director of Child Wise, a social enterprise of Save The Children.
Deputy Public Guardian Shayna Smith will serve as Acting Public Guardian in the interim.
