Australia is deeply concerned by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) ballistic missile launch on 6 August 2026, and multiple other launches this year.
These tests violate multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions and present a pattern of dangerous and escalatory behaviour that undermines regional peace and stability.
Australia continues to call on the DPRK to abandon its illegal nuclear and ballistic missile programs and return to dialogue.
Australia will continue to work with the international community to strengthen efforts to hold the DPRK to account for non-compliance with UNSC resolutions.
