Aussie Industry Group Joins Executive Cyber Council

Australian Industry Group Chief Executive Innes Willox has been appointed to the Executive Cyber Council, a national forum bringing together senior government and industry leaders to support delivery of the 2023–2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy.

The Council plays a key role in strengthening Australia's cyber security settings by fostering collaboration between government and industry, sharing strategic insights and supporting initiatives that lift cyber resilience across the economy.

Mr Willox said the appointment reflects Australian Industry Group's longstanding role as a trusted representative of business and its practical contribution to cyber resilience, particularly for small and medium‑sized enterprises.

"Cyber security is now a core business issue for companies of every size," Mr Willox said.

"Australian Industry Group brings the voice of a large cross section of industries into national discussions, helping ensure cyber policy and reforms are practical, proportionate and effective for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises that are often most exposed to cyber risk."

Australian Industry Group supports businesses across all major sectors of the economy and works closely with governments to translate cyber policy into workable guidance, improve cyber awareness and build capability across supply chains.

"Collaboration through the Executive Cyber Council will help strengthen Australia's cyber resilience by aligning government priorities with real‑world industry experience and supporting a sustained uplift in cyber maturity across the economy," Mr Willox said.
