Snowy Monaro Regional Library is excited to announce South Australian children's author Nell Harris will be appearing at Cooma Library for a reading of her new picture book My Brain is a Race Car.

You can join Nell Harris for a children's story time – followed by crafts and an author talk with parents – at Cooma Library on Saturday 15 July from 10.30am.

The book is all about being a kid living with ADHD, and was inspired by Harris' daughter's ADHD diagnosis.

"I wanted to gift her a book that helped explain her brain's processes and needs", said Harris.

Harris writes books about neurodiversity without jargon or complicated terminology. This makes it easier for neurodivergent kids and their friends to understand neurodivergent brains.

My Brain is a Race Car is the author's second picture book. Her first book My Body Has A Bubble, is all about learning personal space. Both books will be available for loan from Cooma Library.

My Brain is a Race Car is a great way to help kids understand neurodivergence as they head back to their classrooms after school holiday break.
