Campaspe Library Service is hosting a writer's workshop and two authors visits at Echuca Library in August.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Rob Amos says it's great to see author activations in the library and a variety of events in the region.

The writer's workshop with Pamela Freeman and Stephen Hart is happening on Saturday, 19 August from 10.30am - 1pm at Echuca Library.

"The session will explore the development of the characters attendees choose to write about and will provide information and inspiration for upcoming writers. The workshop is all about developing characters that can carry a story. Reserve your place to enjoy a productive morning with Pamela and Stephen," Cr Amos Said.

Bestselling author and ex-teacher, Gabbie Stroud will be visiting Echuca Library on Tuesday, 22 August from 7.15pm.

"Gabbie Stroud has had great success with a few books, including Teacher, Dear Parents and the book she will be discussing in her visit, The Things That Matter Most.

"The story is set in a regional town and follows the life of a school teacher. It highlights the strain and emotional load that teachers experience, as well as the love, hope and passion for the job. It'll be a great event, I encourage you all to book your spots," Cr Amos said.

Melbourne writer, journalist and broadcaster, Justin Smith will be visiting Echuca Library on Thursday, 31 August from 2pm.

"Justin is another great writer visiting Campaspe. He will be discussing his latest novel, Good as Gold, a reimagining of the race that stops the nation. Audiences will hear from Justin as he recalls his experiences in writing the book and his personal connection to the story.

"There's so many great events happening at Echuca Library. If you're looking for something unique to do this August, register for attendance," Cr Amos added.

All sessions are free, however bookings are required. Please contact Campaspe Library Service on 03 5481 2400 or email [email protected]
