As planning for their new permanent station continues - upgrades at a temporary site on Murphy Street are now underway.
These upgrades will allow crews to relocate while a new permanent station at Hargreaves Street is delivered.
Local builders Whelan Master Builders have been appointed to deliver a diesel exhaust capture system and gym facilities.
Works are expected to be completed by October with crews moving over after.
Meanwhile, planning for the new permanent station on Hargreaves Street continues.
The tender is to be released soon with work to begin before the end of the year.
