Balliang Collision Turns Fatal

A woman has died following a three-vehicle collision in Balliang on yesterday evening.

Emergency services responded to reports a silver Holden sedan collided with a black Ford Escape utility on Bacchus Marsh Road, near the intersection with Granite Road, about 5pm on Monday, 14 September.

Investigators believe the Holden then collided with a white Ford Ranger.

The driver of the Holden, a 70-year-old woman from Melton, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

She later died in hospital.

The passenger of the Holden, an 85-year-old Melton man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
