Baylor College of Medicine and Hess Toy Truck have collaborated for the 10th consecutive year on a series of hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities and guides for students and educators nationwide. The newest guide, titled Ready, Set, STEM!, encourages students in kindergarten through eighth grade to learn all about the high-speed world of racing with the 2025 Hess Stock Car Racers.
The guide, created by the Huffington Department of Education, Innovation and Technology's Center for Educational Outreach at Baylor, includes eight activities, test models, design ramps and more using the Hess Stock Car Racers. The guide teaches students how to apply STEM concepts, such as potential and kinetic energy, aerodynamics, gravity and force. The free STEM guide is available for families and educators through the BioEd online site.
"For a decade, our collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine has helped students nationwide experience the excitement of STEM in a way that is both memorable and fun," said Justin Mayer, general manager of Hess Toy Truck. "We're proud that the Hess Toy Truck continues to spark curiosity, creativity and real problem-solving skills that inspire the innovators and changemakers of tomorrow."
Over the last decade, the collaboration between Baylor College of Medicine and Hess Toy Truck has produced more than 70 lessons for students to explore in or outside of the classroom. Previous editions have featured rescue vehicles, police cars, recreational vehicles and aircraft.
"Our collaboration with Hess Toy Truck brings the wonders of engineering, physical science and technology to life for students," said Dr. Nancy Moreno, chair of the Huffington Department of Education, Innovation and Technology and director of the Center for Educational Outreach at Baylor College of Medicine.
