Residents and local school students are invited to unleash their creativity as part of Bayside Council's annual Christmas Flag Competition, with winning artwork set to be proudly displayed on street flags across Bayside as part of Council's Christmas celebrations.
The much-loved competition has become a highlight of the local Christmas calendar, providing an opportunity for the community to contribute to the festive atmosphere and celebrate the season through art and design.
Council is seeking bright, cheerful and creative designs that capture the spirit of Christmas and reflect the joy of the festive season. The competition is open to all Bayside residents and local school children.
Winning designs will receive extensive community exposure, appearing on street flags flown throughout Bayside during Christmas. Selected artwork may also be incorporated into Council's Christmas displays, printed materials and online promotional activities.
Submissions can be hand-drawn, photographic or digitally created. All entries must conform to a predefined template and meet Council branding and logo requirements to ensure suitability for reproduction on street flags, banners and other promotional materials.
Designs must be submitted by Monday 19 October 2026 using the template and entry form. Entries submitted by email won't be considered.
Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall said
"This competition is a wonderful opportunity for residents of all ages to contribute to our Christmas celebrations and help some bring festive cheer to our streets and public spaces."
