The Federal Executive of the Family First Party is pleased to announce the formal endorsement of Bernie Finn as a candidate for the Victorian Legislative Council at the upcoming state election in November 2026.
Bernie brings a wealth of experience, having served nearly three decades as a Liberal Member of the Victorian Parliament. Throughout his career, he distinguished himself as a stalwart defender of family, faith, and freedom. Following his expulsion from the Liberal Party in 2022 over his principled pro-life and pro-family views, Bernie joined Family First in 2023, becoming the party's lead candidate in the Senate for Victoria at the 2025 election.
A passionate and tireless campaigner, Bernie is the long-serving president of the annual "March for the Babies" in Melbourne – Australia's biggest pro-life rally.
He continues to stand firm against the encroachment of woke ideologies, which seek to undermine parental rights, hijack education with gender fluid ideology, and assault freedom of speech and religion.
"I am honoured to stand as Family First's candidate for the Victorian Upper House. I will fight every day to preserve the innocence of children, to secure parents' rights, and to stand unyieldingly against the woke nonsense that erodes our social fabric.
"I will also fight for rational energy policy and push back on the net zero nonsense promoted by Liberal and Labor which is destroying the wealth of Victorian mums and dads."
This endorsement underscores Family First's unwavering commitment to elevating strong, courageous voices like Bernie's into a political environment marked by weak and woke Liberal and Labor politicians.
Family First has not yet allocated upper house regions to the candidates pre-selected so far. However, Mr Finn is expected to run for one of the two western metropolitan regions where he has been a long-term resident.
