Berowra Library has officially reopened its doors following exciting refurbishments completed in June. The upgrades include a dedicated children's area, designed to better serve young readers and their families, as well as new study tables that provide a comfortable space for learning.
To celebrate the reopening, an Open Day was held on Saturday, where Mayor Warren Waddell officially opened the space with a cake cutting and speech. Deputy Mayor Janelle McIntosh was also in attendance, along with members of the community. Guests enjoyed morning tea and a variety of family-friendly activities throughout the day.
The transformation of the library involved removing an internal wall and integrating the former meeting room into the main library space, creating a bright, open, and engaging area for children. The updated layout also includes new seating and study tables, creating a more welcoming and functional environment for both individual and group learning.
Mayor Waddell praised the revitalised library at the opening, saying, "Today marks a welcome milestone for the Berowra community as they now have dedicated spaces for where stories can come alive for children and where students can thrive in their studies."
"The new children's area is an inspiring space – bright, engaging, and thoughtfully designed to nurture a lifelong love of reading and discovery in our youngest residents. The study nooks provide a welcoming environment for older children and students to focus, learn and grow."
The community is invited to visit the newly refurbished Berowra Library and explore all it has to offer. In addition to books, the library offers games, puzzles, cake tins and STEM kits for borrowing. Located at Gully Road, Berowra, Berowra library is open Tuesday to Saturday.
