Federation Council Libraries welcomed acclaimed children's author Adrian Beck for a series of engaging visits to eight primary schools across the Federation Council area last week. Young readers from Rand, Boree Creek, Mulwala, and other local schools had the exciting opportunity to meet the author behind popular series like the AFL Little Legends and Kick It To Nick (co-authored with Shane Crawford).

Students were captivated as Beck shared insights into his creative process and how he develops his beloved characters and storylines. A highlight for many was the chance to learn how to draw Furball the Spy Cat, one of his newest and most popular characters.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Cheryl Cook, expressed her enthusiasm for the program.

"We were absolutely thrilled to host Adrian Beck in our region," Mayor Cook said.

"It's incredibly important to foster a love of reading and storytelling from a young age, and Adrian's visits certainly ignited that spark in our local students. His ability to connect with the children and bring his characters to life was truly inspiring."

Mayor Cook said events like these are so important for our community.

"They not only provide unique educational experiences but also encourage creativity and literacy in a fun and interactive way," she said.

"We are committed to supporting programs that enrich the lives of our young people and help them discover the joy of reading."
