Bibra Lake bushfire

Strike Force Vulcan officers are investigating a bushfire that occurred in Bibra Lake around 5.35pm on Tuesday, 31 December 2019.

The cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious and it is believed the fire started in bushland on Bushland Ridge in the light industrial area.

The fire burnt through a large section of bushland before Department of Fire and Emergency Services air and ground assets were able to gain control and extinguish the fire.

Investigators wish to speak to a man sighted riding a bicycle in the vicinity of the fire, carrying a large camera and taking photos of the fire. He was wearing a grey shirt and had a beard.

Any members of the public who were driving in the Bushland Ridge, Sustainable Ave and Discovery Drive area between 5.15pm and 6pm who have dash-cam vision of the area is asked to come forward.

Anyone with information regarding this fire or who saw any suspicious people, or vehicles, in the vicinity of the fire, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.
