Bland Shire Library is once again calling on the community to support local families doing it tough this Christmas, with its annual Christmas Appeal running from Monday 9 November to Friday 11 December 2026.
The appeal invites residents, community groups and local businesses to donate non-perishable food items and unwrapped gifts for children aged 0-15 years. All donations will be provided to the St Vincent de Paul Society West Wyalong Branch for distribution to local families in need.
Mayor Lisa Minogue encouraged the community to get behind the appeal and help make Christmas a little easier for families who may be struggling.
"Christmas can be a difficult time for families who are doing it tough, especially in the current cost of living crisis and a little help from the community can make a real difference.
"If you're in a position to donate, I encourage you to get involved. Whether it's a few groceries or a gift for a child, every contribution is appreciated and helps support local families at a time when it matters."
Donations can be dropped off at Bland Shire Library during the appeal period.
Bland Shire Council thanks the community for its generous support of the Christmas Appeal in previous years and encourages residents to get involved again in 2026. The continued generosity of the community is greatly appreciated and helps make a difference for local families at Christmas.
