A huge thank you to everyone who voted for Knox in the Victorian Government's Pick My Park program .
A total of 124 projects were shortlisted in the program, including 3 from Knox. A public vote was undertaken to choose which projects should receive the funding.
Thanks to the community's support, Marie Wallace Reserve in Bayswater and David Cooper Park in Wantirna South have secured funding for exciting improvements that will benefit the local community for years to come.
Marie Wallace Reserve, Bayswater - $250,000
Inspired by the site's cultural heritage as an eel trap location, the existing playspace will be renewed with an eel-themed play structure, water play features, an accessible net swing, an accessible carousel and a bank slide. The project also includes tree planting, seating and a gathering space.
We are currently finalising the detailed design plans and anticipate construction of this project to commence in early 2027.
David Cooper Park, Wantirna South - $62,500
Solar-powered lighting will be installed in key areas of the park to improve visibility and support safe use during the evening, while minimising impacts on neighbouring properties and the environment.
We anticipate construction of this project to commence early 2027.
These projects are being delivered by Knox City Council with support from the Victorian Government's Pick My Park program. The Pick My Park program provides funding to support new and upgraded parks in areas experiencing population growth.
Thank you for supporting these projects and helping create even better places to play, connect and enjoy the outdoors across Knox.
