A body has been located following a house fire at Lake Munmorah this morning.
About 10.25am (Friday 8 September 2023), emergency services were called to Clarence Street, following reports of a house fire.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived to find a house well alight.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters from NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue NSW.
Following a search of the home, the body of a woman was located. She has not been formally identified but is believed to be aged in her 80s.
A crime scene has been established, and investigations are underway into the case of the fire.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
