The body believed to be that of a woman missing from the Illawarra region has been found.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District have been searching for a 68-year-old woman, who was last seen on Wednesday 20 May 2020.
About 10.45am today (Saturday 23 May 2020), a woman's body was located in bushland on Bridge Avenue, Oak Flats.
While she is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing woman.
Initial inquiries suggest the death is not suspicious.
Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
