The Crisafulli Government is delivering for Queensland with vital support for the State's 495,000 small and family businesses, and a $1 billion digital fund.
The Customer Services and Small Business Budget is the foundation of a fresh start for a better lifestyle through a stronger economy with a thriving small business sector.
The 2025-26 Queensland Budget delivers more than $130 million in new programs, grants and initiatives to support Queensland small businesses and their staff, including a $19 million Apprenticeship Pilot Program and new grants programs for construction and professional care businesses.
The Budget also delivers on a key election commitment to restore safety and ease the burden of youth crime on small businesses with the $40 million Secure Communities Partnership Program.
The Crisafulli Government's Small and Family Business First Action Statement tackles Labor's legacy of red tape doubling in just two years and rising insurance costs due to a decade-long soft-on-crime approach.
The Crisafulli Government is providing $16.8 million to extend the Small Business Support Network to June 2028, reversing Labor's decision to end funding on 30 June 2025.
The Network provides a wraparound support service, with free and confidential access to:
- financial counsellors to overcome business challenges including natural disasters; and
- wellness coaching to get business-related mental health challenges under control and develop the skills to avoid future difficulties.
A $1 million Small and Family Business Innovation Pathway over the next four years will directly engage Queensland small and family businesses for short-term initiatives to solve specific problems or improve Government service delivery.
A Queensland-first $1 billion Queensland Government Digital Fund will also be established to drive a coordinated whole-of-government approach to investment in digital and IT systems across the public sector over four years.
The central fund, managed by the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, will allow for strategic and targeted investment in critical government digital and ICT systems, which support the services Government delivers for Queenslanders.
Treasurer David Janetzki said the 2025-26 Budget was about delivering for Queensland with a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.
"We promised a fresh start for Queensland and that's exactly what this Budget delivers," Treasurer Janetzki said.
"After crises in youth crime, health, housing and cost of living, this Budget delivers the foundation for safety where you live, health services when you need them, a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and a plan for Queensland's future."
Minister for Customer Services and Open Data and Minister for Small and Family Business, Steve Minnikin, said the Crisafulli Government was delivering its Small and Family Business First approach alongside better customer services and digital solutions.
"Queensland small and family businesses are the backbone of local communities, and we know when they thrive, the economy thrives – that's why this Budget is delivering for them," Minister Minnikin said.
"Our Small Business Support Network builds on the more than $100 million already announced through our Small and Family Business First Action Statement.
"It will mean more businesses get the vital support they've been asking for to help them thrive and recover from challenges like natural disasters.
"Our $1 billion Queensland Government Digital Fund will allow us greater oversight and efficiency in the implementation of key digital systems and services.
"We want to see fewer ICT cost blowouts and project over-runs because we mean it when we say we have a greater respect for Queenslanders' money."
