- Specialist disability accommodation project to deliver supported accommodation for up to six individuals

Community housing provider, Community Housing Limited (CHL), has appointed a builder to deliver two dwellings for specialist disability accommodation (SDA) in Rockingham.
The project is being built with $2.34 million funding through the State Government's Community Housing New Build Grant program.
The development comprises two three-bedroom SDA dwellings that can accommodate a total of six tenants, as well as one onsite overnight-assistance room.
CHL has contracted Motive Building Group to deliver the project and CHL will also manage the property on completion.
CHL is a registered SDA provider and will provide management services in accordance with the requirements of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
CHL delivers and manages social and affordable housing to people on low to moderate incomes, including seniors, people with disabilities and mental illness, and currently manages over 675 properties in Perth and regions in Northern Western Australia
The Rockingham project is expected to be completed in late 2026.
The Cook Labor Government has invested a record $5.8 billion in housing and homelessness measures since 2021, adding more than 3500 social homes in that time.
As stated by Housing and Works Minister John Carey:
"Our government is committed to helping grow the community housing sector in WA and delivering more homes for vulnerable tenants, including those with disabilities.
"The Community Housing New Build Grants program is a substantial investment to help meet this commitment by enabling the construction of much needed new social housing with a variety of dwelling types and configurations."
