National Road Transport Association

The Pacific Motorway M1 will be closed between Varsity Lakes (exit 85) and Burleigh (exit 87) nightly from 8pm to 5am for the period Monday 4 April to Thursday 7 April, then again Sunday 10 April to Tuesday 12 April, to allow for construction of the new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) as part of the Varsity Lakes to Tugun M1 upgrade.

All M1 traffic (north and southbound) travelling between exit 85 and exit 87 will be detoured via Reedy Creek Road and Southport-Burleigh Road.

Northbound

PBS 2B combinations (26m > 30m in length) will be directed to use a turnaround bay within the road works area and will be redirected to use the exit 87 northbound onramp to continue north.

Special Purpose Vehicles over 40t, Oversize Overmass vehicles, low loaders and platforms will be directed by a site controller to stop at a safe location within the worksite until it is safe to proceed. Please contact Nathan Reibel 0427 319 904 at time of travel. There will also be VMS messaging to assist.
