Call for CCTV after breaks in suburb in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance in gaining CCTV or dashcam footage after six homes were targeted in The Gap area in Alice Springs yesterday.

Six homes were reported as being unlawfully entered in the area of Ballingall Street and Clara Court between 8am and 1pm.

An Apple Macbook Pro laptop, sunglasses, Garmin sports watch, alcohol and other personal items were stolen by unknown offender/s.

Detective Senior Sergeant Evan Kelly said he urged anyone who was in the area of Ballingall Street, Willshire Street and Clara Court between 10:15am and 11:30am yesterday, to contact police.

"Anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage of these areas between these times may have seen something or heard some, which would assist us in identifying offender/s who conducted the breaks.

"Unfortunately six residents returned home to find their property had been broken into and a significant amount of damage caused in the process. We appreciate any assistance in helping us identify the offenders responsible for these crimes."

Strike Force Viper has carriage of these investigations and urges anyone who has information including CCTV or dash cam footage, or who was in the area during this time, to contact police on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
