Call for Entrants for Cherry King/Queen Competition

Hilltops Council

The Woolworths National Cherry Festival committee would like to encourage Hilltops Region residents over the age of 18 to get involved and join the 2021 Cherry King/Queen Competition.

With one entry so far, the committee would love to see more entrants join the competition and be part of the fun.

The Cherry King/Queen competition, over its long history, has played an integral role in the success of the National Cherry Festival. It is an important opportunity for the community to get involved and support fundraising efforts of each of the entrants.

Brianah Griffin, crowned Charity Queen in 2019, raised over $20,000 for her chosen charity, and encourages others to "get involved and raise money for a charity that is close to your heart."

2019 Cherry King David Munnerley says it is an opportunity to "give back to the community, learn a lot, make lifelong friends, and have a bit of fun."

Non-profit community-based clubs and charity organisations within the region are also encouraged to nominate an entrant to represent their organisation and raise funds.

Anyone interested in entering the competition is invited to attend an information session on Friday 16 July from 5.30pm - 6.30pm at the Young Services Club.
