Call for witnesses Serious Assault Alice Springs

Police are seeking public assistance in relation to a disturbance at Araluen Park in Alice Springs on Sunday February 11.

Initial reports to police were that a group of people were fighting with sticks at the northern end of Araluen Park around 12:30pm, Northern Territory Police say

During the incident, a 58-year-old man received non-life threatening head injuries and a broken arm and was transported to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

Detective Senior Constable Antemes said police believe there may be witnesses to the incident:

"The fight happened close enough to the road that people travelling on Larapinta Drive at the time would have seen something."

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed or have information in relation to the incident to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
