Infrastructure Canada

Today, the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs, Minister responsible for PrairiesCan, Minister responsible for CanNor and Member of Parliament for Saint-Boniface-Saint-Vital, and Taneen Rudyk, President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), announced an investment of $224,011 in five communities in Manitoba to strengthen data-driven decision-making about key infrastructure and ensure long-term infrastructure performance.

  • The Town of Winnipeg Beach is receiving $40,000 to develop an asset management plan to better understand the current and desired state of infrastructure and the associated costs, levels of service and risks.
  • The Municipality of Roblin is receiving $40,000 to develop its first asset management strategy that will allow it to make more informed budgetary considerations on the renewal of existing assets, develop enhanced maintenance practices and the general improvement of service delivery.
  • The Municipality of Cartwright-Roblin is receiving $50,000 to develop an asset management policy, strategy, and plan that will provide data on municipally-owned key assets.

By investing in infrastructure, the Government of Canada is growing our country's economy, increasing the resiliency of our communities, and improving the lives of Canadians.
